Connoisseur Artworks, a private art gallery established in the hub of Orchard Road, have entered into discussion with the Community Chest to initiate a fund-raising campaign under their auspices.
The project name will be called the "Art of Giving". To kickstart the effort, a sizeable section of Connoisseur Artworks gallery will be permanently allocated to this project. Well-known Singapore artists will be approached to donate their artworks for charitable sale. An extension of the project will be to invite well-known local celebrities who draw to also contribute artworks for charity. The goal is to have an ongoing exhibition featuring the donated works of art
for public viewing and purchase.
The proceeds of the art sold will be donated entirely toward charities under the auspices of the Community Chest such as the Hospice Day Care Centre, The Salvation Army Family Support Services, and the Alzheimer's Disease Association.
Various methods will be employed to secure public interest in the fund-raising endeavor. This will include mass media (radio, TV, newspaper) interviews and exposure, the internet (www.artofgiving.com.sg) and distribution of promotional
materials perhaps in the form of flyers or emailers and advertisements placed in selected magazines. It is hoped that
the project will be able to raised $1,000 to $10,000 monthly. |
